Samsung sells out 2027 HBM4 supply and starts HBM4E in H1 2027
The 2027 HBM4 book is closed, and Samsung puts HBM4E into mass production in H1 2027.

| Samsung | |
|---|---|
| HBM4 2027 supply | booked and sold out |
| HBM4E mass production | first half of 2027 |
| DDR5 speed | 8,000 MT/s and above |
| LTA capacity | 60-70% of total production capacity |
| Q3 2026 revenue | 195.3 trillion Korean Won |
| operating profit | above 100 trillion Korean Won |
Samsung said on its Q3 2026 earnings call that HBM4 supply for 2027 is booked and sold out.
HBM4E mass production begins in the first half of 2027, with a ramp in the second half.

The company also expects memory shortages to worsen in 2027 and supply constraints to persist into 2028.
Long-term agreements with 10 customers cover up to 70% of capacity, leaving a smaller open pool.
The physical limit comes from larger HBM4E and HBM5 dies and more metal layers, not just demand.

DDR5 demand is framed around 8,000 MT/s and above, while NAND focus is on PCIe Gen6 server SSDs and high-density QLC SSDs.
The call does not name per-product HBM4 or HBM4E prices, customer names, or measured die sizes and metal-layer counts.
The allocation is clear; the price path and bit-growth effect of raised capex remain unmeasured.
