How we source

Every published brief names the outlet or document it is based on and, when we have one, links to that URL. The grade on the brief is the claim about evidence, not a claim that we originated the reporting.

• CONFIRMED — vendor, filing, or operator document.
• MULTI-SOURCE — two independent desks on the same fact.
• SINGLE-SOURCE — one serious outlet. Treat as their reporting, restated.
• RUMOR — a named leak. One source is enough to print it. It is not a second confirmation.

We do not publish the source article verbatim. Photographs that appear next to a brief accompany that dispatch; rights stay with the original publisher. Die Brief covers are marked as such.

If a brief is wrong, write [email protected] with the URL and the correction.
