Two Weibo leakers are the only source for the iPhone 18e spec
Apple's China newsroom page does not mention the iPhone 18e, its A20 chip, or a 60Hz panel. The entire budget-tier spec lives in two Weibo posts.
| iPhone 18e | |
|---|---|
| chip | A20 |
| display | 6.12-inch OLED |
| refresh rate | 60Hz |
| rear camera | 48-megapixel, single |
| launch | spring 2027 |
The page, dated October 31, 2026, names iPhone 16 and later, iPhone Duo, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone Air as Apple Intelligence–supported devices. It stops at a category rather than naming the 18e specifically.
Fixed Focus Digital posted that the only upgrade they can confirm for the device is a new chip. Digital Chat Station supplied the rest: a 6.12-inch OLED panel, a 60Hz refresh rate, and a single 48-megapixel rear camera.
The 60Hz figure is the number that decides the buyer's experience, and it appears in no Apple document. Apple's own page confirms that Apple Intelligence in China excludes Siri AI and the next-generation features from WWDC 2026.
The A20 is expected to carry one fewer GPU core than the A20 Pro, mirroring its predecessor. No core count, process node, thermal envelope, battery capacity, front-camera resolution, or exact launch date appears in any confirmed document. The spring 2027 window is the only timeline anchor.
A buyer in China gets Apple Intelligence without Siri AI. The fab gets no confirmed core count or process node. The entire spec sheet lives in two Weibo posts.
Leading with Apple's silence rather than the leakers' claims reframes the story from a spec sheet to a documentation gap, which is the actual news.
After @aaronp613. We did not report this. The pictures, if any, are theirs.
