Nova Lake-HX adds 28 cores to laptops
TSMC N2P is the final node.

| Core Ultra 9 4995HX | Core Ultra 9 4970H | |
|---|---|---|
| Cores | 28 | 16 |
| P-Cores | 8 | 4 |
| E-Cores | 16 | 8 |
| LP-E Cores | 4 | 4 |
| iGPU Cores | 2 | 12 |
| TDP | ~55W | ~28W |
| Process | TSMC N2P | |
| Die Size | 14.8 mm x 6.6 mm |
TSMC N2P is the final node.
The 4995HX is listed as 8+16+4+2, with 2 Xe3 iGPU cores. That string fixes the core mix, not the clock, the memory path, or the price.
The 4970H is listed as 4+8+4+12. The H part keeps the same CPU core count but adds Xe3P iGPU cores.
A 28-core HX part with ~55W base and a 14.8 mm by 6.6 mm die points to desktop-like core density in a laptop. The listing does not show whether a thin chassis can hold that density.
What remains unmeasured is the part that decides a laptop, including sustained clocks, memory bandwidth, iGPU frame rates, and price.
The buyer is constrained by power and thermal design, not by core count. The listing names a configuration, not a sustained laptop product.
The core mix is the change, and the unmeasured laptop metrics are the gap.
After @jaykihn0. We did not report this. The pictures, if any, are theirs.
