The Die Brief Desk, after naob.no

A 120Hz ProMotion panel was one of two refresh-rate options Apple tried for the new OLED iPad mini.

Gurman says Apple tried a 60Hz panel and a ProMotion 120Hz panel during the two-year development of the new OLED iPad mini.

The page does not confirm which panel Apple chose.

That leaves the buyer without a motion-smoothness spec and the panel supplier without a confirmed order.

The 120Hz figure is a test point, not a shipping commitment.

Apple can still choose the lower-rate panel to cut cost, power draw, or panel risk.

Brightness, panel supplier, price, battery impact, and the final refresh rate are not measured in the page.

The image shows Gurman and a HomeView device, not the panel.

The gap is the selection, not the test.

Keep the refresh rate as an open test point, not a shipping spec.

After naob.no. We did not report this. The pictures, if any, are theirs.
