ElmorLabs PMD2X moves 12V-2×6 monitoring to individual wires
ElmorLabs PMD2X measures individual 12VHPWR and 12V-2×6 wires, while the connector path is rated for a continuous 51 A load.

PMD2X measures individual 12VHPWR and 12V-2×6 wires instead of treating the connector as one channel. Listed continuous limit for that connection is 51 A, while the device also keeps two EPS 8-pin inputs rated at 28 A each and three PCIe 8-pin inputs rated at 27 A each. No measured current value is given, so no measurement sits inside the 51 A limit.
Constrained is the user who needs to see how current splits across individual wires, not the connector as a black box. Document does not prove accuracy, calibration, or that any wire stays below its share under a real GPU load. For a buyer, the useful change is per-wire logging through USB-C or the OLED screen, with optional wireless expansion through the included XIAO ESP32-C6.

What remains unmeasured is the actual per-wire current under load, the thermal response of the connector, and the accuracy of the new software version. The page also leaves out calibration data, error bounds, and any comparison against a reference meter. Until those numbers exist, the 51 A rating tells the buyer the device can pass current, not that it has verified a specific card.

The buyer gains per-wire visibility, but the document still does not prove that any wire stays within its share under real load. That 51 A rating is a pass-through limit, not a measured result.
Document leaves out measured per-wire current, calibration data, error bounds, and thermal behavior under load.
PMD2X changes the measurement boundary from connector-level current to individual wire current, but without calibration or load data it cannot establish per-wire safety margins.
