IPhone Duo hinge shows a stiffer gauge reading after 32,000 folds

The Die Brief Desk, after @milesabovetech

A calibrated gauge reading points to a stiffer hinge after the fold test, not a torque value.

Apple has not published a lifetime fold number, so the fold count cannot carry the durability claim.

The case stayed on during the run. The machine opened the phone flat without closing it fully each time.

The gauge reading moved in one direction, stiffer after the test.

That direction can reflect friction, case constraint, or incomplete closure. It does not prove the hinge will stay stiff for years.

Buyers lack an official fold count, and fabs lack torque values. Samsung's 500,000-fold display test offers a reference point. It is a display test, not an Apple hinge torque test.

Crease visibility, torque values, and closed-cycle fold counts remain unmeasured.

The hinge change is a direction, not a durability proof.

After @milesabovetech. We did not report this. The pictures, if any, are theirs. Also filed by AppleInsider, MacRumors.
