AMD Ryzen Z3 leak points to a 25 mm FF6 package

The Die Brief Desk, after Wccftech Hardware

The filing names the Ryzen Z3 as a semi-customized FF6 25x25 mm package with 12 compute units and a possibly changed 4c+2lp core layout.

The leaker page lists the Ryzen Z3 as a semi-customized FF6 25x25 mm package. It also carries 12CU and a core layout written as 4c+2lp, with the note "maybe changed." That is the whole frame: one package size, one graphics unit count, and one uncertain core split.

The deciding number is the 25x25 mm footprint, not the 12CU label. A handheld maker is constrained by how much board area, memory, and heat path the package allows, and the document does not show a verified power envelope. The core layout is still open because the note says 4c+2lp with a maybe-changed caveat, so the buyer cannot treat the CPU mix as fixed.

For the fab and the handheld OEM, the semi-custom note means the part is not a simple shared-IP drop-in. The same IP claim points to shared building blocks, but the package and unit count still require a new board layout. The buyer should expect the final core split and graphics configuration to move before launch, because the source itself flags the core layout as unsettled.

The page does not carry measured power draw, clock range, die size, thermal behavior, or frame-rate performance for the 12CU block. Those gaps matter more than the shift from shared IP to a handheld package. Until a thermal or power point is measured, the 25x25 mm package is a placement constraint, not proof that the part can run hot in a small chassis.

The package size, not the core count, is the constraint that matters for handheld makers. The document does not prove thermal headroom, so the 12CU block remains a layout claim, not a performance claim.

The document leaves out measured power draw, clock range, die size, thermal behavior, and frame-rate performance.

For a handheld, a 25x25 mm FF6 footprint sets board and thermal limits before silicon tuning. Without measured power, clocks, or die size, the 12CU and 4c+2lp figures are design inputs, not validated behavior.
