The RTX 5080 24GB kit still has not gone out
BenchLife says board partners still had no design kit for a 24GB GeForce RTX 5080 at the end of October. The line that there would be no new product in 2026 belongs to a leaker. Jensen Huang did not say it.

| What was said | What it covers | |
|---|---|---|
| GeForce account, Jan 5 | No new GPUs will be announced | That night's GeForce On update |
| MEGAsizeGPU, Jan 15 | No new product in 2026 | The leaker's post |
| NVIDIA to Wccftech, Jan 16 | Still shipping every GeForce SKU | Existing cards. Memory is tight |
| Jensen Huang, CES | Older GPUs could come back. He would look | A question about older cards |
| BenchLife, Nov 2 | Design kit not out by the end of October | Unnamed sources. A 24 GB RTX 5080 |
| NVIDIA spec page | 16 GB GDDR7, 256-bit, 360 W | The RTX 5080 NVIDIA lists |
The posts filed on November 2 point at one report. BenchLife wrote that its sources still had not received design documents for a GeForce RTX 5080 with 24 GB. Those sources say NVIDIA planned to hand the documents over in October, and that the documents had not arrived by the end of the month. BenchLife's conclusion is that a January launch is unlikely. Partners still have to design and test the card, and PCB stock and other parts are short. The report says the ship date depends on when the documents arrive.
VideoCardz carried that report. TechPowerUp, PC Guide, Club386 and others filed it the same day. They are the same source. VideoCardz added two notes of its own. An announcement at CES, which it puts on January 6 to 9, could still happen without cards in stores. A board partner once told VideoCardz that a new card took at least six weeks after the design information arrived, in a period when partners were still focused on gaming cards. VideoCardz says two months may now be optimistic. That six weeks is one earlier conversation.
Jensen Huang did not say there would be no Super and no new cards. On January 5, NVIDIA's GeForce account posted that no new GPUs would be announced at that night's GeForce On community update. The sentence that spread as company policy is from the leaker MEGAsizeGPU on January 15. He wrote that supply to add-in-card partners had been cut 15% to 20%, that NVIDIA was still bundling the GPU with memory, and that there would be no new product in 2026.
The next day, NVIDIA told Wccftech: "Demand for GeForce RTX GPUs is strong, and memory supply is constrained. We continue to ship all GeForce SKUs and are working closely with our suppliers to maximize memory availability." At CES, Tom's Hardware's Paul Alcorn asked whether older GPUs could go back into production on older process nodes, or whether NVIDIA could ship more cards with less memory. Jensen said possibly. Bringing the latest AI technology to a previous generation was, he said, within the realm of possibility, and it would take a fair amount of engineering. "I'll go back and take a look at this. It's a good idea."
The card on NVIDIA's specification page is the 16 GB GeForce RTX 5080. The page lists 16 GB of GDDR7 on a 256-bit bus, 10752 CUDA cores, a 2.62 GHz boost clock, and 360 W total graphics power. It lists no 24 GB configuration. BenchLife states no core count, no power limit, and no price for a 24 GB card.
What nobody measured is a named partner, a document, or a comment from NVIDIA on a 24 GB RTX 5080. A kit that was still missing at the end of October makes a January ship date difficult if that October plan was real. The product NVIDIA lists is the 16 GB card.
If the documents go out, the January rumor comes back as a later date. Until NVIDIA names the card, the specification page is the product.
