NVIDIA Hyperion adds European L3 and L4 vehicle programs

The Die Brief Desk, after nvidianews.nvidia.com

Bolt, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Einride, and Volvo Cars are building L3 or L4 programs on Hyperion, with Alpamayo 2 Edge at 2 billion parameters and 10 Hz.

25,000 is the minimum number of level 4-capable future Lucid vehicles Bolt plans for a European rollout on Hyperion. That figure does not prove a production schedule, a price, or a regulatory approval for Madrid or Germany.

The desk reads this as a stack commitment, not a hardware shipment. Hyperion, Halos SAFE, Alpamayo Stack, and the new model variants bind European programs to NVIDIA's validation path, while Aptiv, Valeo, and Schaeffler make the platform a supplier option for L4 vehicles. The buyer's constraint is that the same architecture must carry passenger cars, freight, and public transit without a named chip, node, or price.

Still unmeasured are the price of Hyperion hardware, the power of the Thor-based Alpamayo 2 Edge run, and the exact date for MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO approval in Germany. The document also leaves open whether the planned fleet includes any public pricing or fleet operating cost.

The document converts European autonomy programs into a shared NVIDIA validation stack rather than a hardware launch. The buyer is constrained by missing price, power, and approval dates, while the fab sees a platform demand signal without a named SKU.

Left out are Hyperion hardware price, node, power, and exact approval or deployment dates.

The release ties Bolt, Lucid, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Einride, and Volvo to Hyperion, Halos SAFE, and Alpamayo variants, but it gives no hardware price, node, or power figure. For an engineer, the measurable constraint is that L3/L4 validation now depends on NVIDIA's simulation and evaluation workflow before any vehicle-level performance can be compared.
