The consoles accept original cartridges and use an Altera Cyclone V FPGA to reproduce the original console logic in hardware rather than through software emulation.

Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz radio are integrated, so compatible wireless gamepads connect without a dongle. Power comes through USB-C, and a new USB-A port handles controller charging or the Analogue DAC.

Cartridges can now be swapped while the console is powered on, after ending the game through the options menu. Full HD 1920 x 1080 remains the video ceiling over HDMI, with no 4K output, save states, screenshots, or openFPGA support.

The package does not include a gamepad. Measured input latency, the exact December ship date, EU pricing, dimensions, weight, and firmware version are not stated in the available pages.
The lede leads with the hardware change rather than the price, and the body separates the FPGA implementation from the connectivity updates and the video ceiling.
