Cervoz T449 and T459 leave endurance unmeasured

The Die Brief Desk, after prnewswire.com

Cervoz lists the T449 and T459 as M.2 2280 NVMe drives with PCIe Gen4 x4, 5,085 MB/s read, and 4,765 MB/s write.

The T449 and T459 Series are listed as M.2 2280 NVMe drives with PCIe Gen4 x4, up to 5,085 MB/s read, and 4,765 MB/s write. The text also claims MIL-STD-810H compliance for vibration, shock, and combined temperature-altitude testing. That is the part a buyer can check against a spec sheet.

The headline pushes "PCIe Gen4 performance" as if the interface settles the design. The PR Newswire filing is the document we trust, and the number that decides it is 5,085 MB/s, not the lane count. The interface does not prove the drive holds that read figure under heat, vibration, or continuous write load.

Die Brief reads the constraint as endurance, not interface. The document names LDPC, wear leveling, over-provisioning, and Dynamic SLC Write Cache, but it leaves out TBW, power draw, controller model, NAND vendor, and sustained write under thermal load. A module maker can specify the drive for shock and vibration, yet cannot size it for continuous recording until those numbers exist.

The endurance path is still unmeasured. The filing does not prove that the 2TB drive survives a defined number of terabytes written, nor that the wide -40°C option keeps the same write speed. That gap changes the buyer: the drive is selectable for rugged mechanical use, but not yet for a mission that depends on long-duration logging.

Die Brief reads the constraint as endurance, not interface. The buyer can specify shock and vibration, but cannot size continuous recording until TBW, power draw, and thermal write data exist.

The document leaves out TBW, power draw, controller model, NAND vendor, and sustained write under thermal load.

The Gen4 x4 path is not the limiting claim; missing TBW, power draw, controller model, NAND vendor, and sustained thermal write data block endurance sizing.
